First Timers or those that don’t want to get lost or go out alone
Learning the ropes to off-roading in Quartzsite can be dangerous and costly. We realized this early on and decided the only way to drastically improve the safety of our customers along with the preservation of the environment and our equipment is to include free training with your first half day rental. We currently offer afternoon half days (1:00pm to 5pm). Renters follow the instructor for 3.5 - 4 hours traversing all types of terrain, the vehicles are equipped with the Quartzsite Off-Road Atlas. We go over the the trail structure, plotting the day, Identifying back up and emergency exit routes, along with pointers in navigating the countless roads. We cover vehicle set up and operation, safe operations in the wash, tire preservation, ascending, descending, off camber, rim-rocking, environmental hazards, as well as archaeological site etiquette and mine site safety. After the initial half day with instruction the renter will have the fundamental skills and confidence to go out on their own and operate the vehicle in a safe and respectful manner. Recognize and mitigate potential hazards. Identify back up and emergency exit routes, and execute the plan of the day.
